INSPECTION
"You need  the 'peace of
   mind' that a 'Premier'  home
   inspection can give."

Who we serve and what we provide:

Premier Home Inspection offers an extensive variety of inspection services, available throughout southeastern Virginia.  All inspections exceed American Society of Home Inspectors' Standards of Practice.  You will receive a complete, "narrative-style" building analysis report immediately after the inspection, which will provide you with a thorough, impartial evaluation of all major components and systems.  Our  full-service home inspection provides for the condition and performance evaluation of the following areas, components, and systems in a home:

1. GROUNDS: We check the driveways, sidewalks, decking, and fencing.  We also check for adequate slope and drainage around the home.
2. ROOF & EXTERIOR: We check your roof, gutters, downspouts, flashing, vents, and the exterior building "skin", (i.e. brick, siding, etc.).  We check all exterior doors and windows for condition and performance.
3. ATTIC: We check  for leaks, adequate insulation, and adequate ventilation.
4. ELECTRICAL & KITCHEN: We check your main panel, switches, outlets, and appliances.
5. PLUMBING & BATHROOMS: We check the water heater, as well as all fixtures for condition and performance.  We check all pipes and vents for leaks and correct installation.
6. HEATING & COOLING: We check the condition of the furnace, boiler,  or heat pump.  We check the condition and performance of the compressor/condenser.  We check the condition of the distribution system and any associated  filters, as well as overall system performance.  We also check for leaks at gas and condensate drain piping.
7. FIREPLACE: We check the condition of the firebox, damper, and flue.
8. STRUCTURAL: We check all visible framing for irregularities.  We also check for moisture, mold, and insect damage.  We check for differential settlement and masonry pier integrity, if masonry piers are present.
9. CRAWLSPACE: We check for plumbing leaks, ductwork and structural defects, and wiring problems.  We also check for the existence of  mold, moisture, rodents, and termites.
10. RENOVATION TIPS: As a licensed architect, I can provide you with valuable repair, replacement, and/or  renovation advice, if required, at no additional charge to you.

Our goal is to be a neutral party who provides either buyers or sellers with an impartial, unbiased, overall professional evaluation of the real estate that we observe.  We accomplish this by:
1. initiating a complete visual inspection, combined with performance checks of all systems, in order to identify any problems.
                                                                                                                                                                               2. explaining what caused those problems in the first place, with recommendations as to a proper course of action for correcting them.

You are encouraged to follow the inspector during the inspection and to ask questions.  We strive to provide a complete picture of a home's strengths and weaknesses, enabling you to make the "correct decision" concerning whether to buy or not to buy.

Each inspection concludes with a thorough discussion of the findings and a comprehensive "narrative style" report provided to either buyer or seller -- whoever is under contract to receive our services.  The type of in-depth report that we provide is necessary in helping you to make an "informed" decision concerning the "actual" condition of the home that you are thinking about purchasing, or if you are a seller, to increase your home's appeal and selling price by correcting deficiencies found by our inspection of your property.  The report is also supplemented with many valuable maintenance tips.

Premier Home Inspection is ready to accommodate your inspection needs today.  Call us at 757-572-5518 when you are ready to schedule that all-important inspection.  A knowledgeable and courteous inspector will answer the phone and will be ready to answer any questions and address any concerns that you might have.
